Thomás de Carranza Abogados advises the Equality Plan of the company Chef Fruit.

The Law Firm Thomás de Carranza Abogados has advised in the elaboration of the Equality Plan of Chef Fruitone of the leading companies in the distribution of fruits and vegetables in the Community of Madrid, especially in the Horeca channel.

The project has been led by Maria Gomes Sousa, director of the Labor Area of the Firm, who has a long experience in the design and implementation of this type of plans. The preparation of the document required a technical and multidisciplinary approach that included negotiation with the workers’ legal representatives, internal data analysis, definition of specific measures and subsequent registration of the document with the labor authority.

With extensive experience in the labor field, Thomás de Carranza Abogados has participated in the development of similar plans, including, most recently, that of the Hotel Ritz in Madrid.

Since 2022, equality plans have been mandatory for all companies with 50 or more employees, as established by Royal Decree 902/2020 on Equal Pay for Men and Women, which celebrates its fourth anniversary this year. The regulation was a decisive boost in the implementation of equality policies in the Spanish business environment, by establishing specific measures to correct structural inequalities between men and women.
